Sardis Baptist Church began in 1882 with a small group of Baptist who had been meeting in each other's homes to worship. The members of these families worked together and built a small one-room log house, the first Sardis Baptist Church. This church was located in Marshall County. In the summer of 1886, a majority of the membership decided to move their worship service to Etowah County.

 

In 2007, Sardis Baptist Church, celebrated its 125th birthday. Many things have changed over the years, but one thing has not. The people of Sardis Baptist Church desire to glorify the Savior and see Him reign in the hearts of all in Sardis City, the surrounding area, and the world.
